The difficult season of BCC Castellana Grotte is further complicated by the abandonment of Renan Zanatta Buiatti.

Coppa Italia: the four finalists

On January 23 and 24 there were the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.

Siena changes again: Cichello returns in place of Zanini

Yesterday, Emma Villas Siena made an unexpected announcement: the dismissal of coach Emanuele Zanini and the decision to give the team back to Juan Manuel Cichello.

CEV Cup: Trento qualified for the quarterfinals

Trento continues to win and convince.
At the BLM Group Arena, the CEV Cup 8th-finals show went on stage again (CEV Cup: they play again in Trento) and Itas Trentino, after the 3-0 victory in December, defeated the German opponents in four sets.

The next opponent is a Swiss team: after the challenge with Lausanne UC in the 16th-finals, it's the turn of Lindaren Volley Amriswil.
The first leg will be played in Switzerland on January 30 at 7:00 pm, while the return will be in Italy between February 12 and 14.

Challenge Cup: Monza qualified for the quarterfinals

The satisfactions for Vero Volley Monza and its supporters continue in the year of debut in the European cups. In fact, the guys trained by Soli qualified for the quarterfinals of the Challenge Cup.

Monza: Plotnytskyi injured

Today, Vero Volley Monza has announced that the outside hitter Oleh Plotnytskyi has a left thigh injury (lesion of the quadriceps femoris) and that he will remain at rest until the end of January.


 

European Championship pools

The 2019 European Championship will take place from September 12 to 29.
For the first time, four countries will host the event and the number of participating teams will increase to 24.

CEV Cup: they play again in Trento

 
It was scheduled for today, in Unterhaching (Germany), the return match of the 8th-finals of CEV Cup between Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching and Itas Trentino.
In recent days, however, a heavy snowfall fell on Bavaria, making it necessary to close all sports facilities for safety reasons.

The two teams said they were willing to play this match in Trento, so, after the CEV's approval, it was decided to play the match tomorrow, Wednesday, January 16, at 8:30 pm at the BLM Group Arena.

Trento will let the spectators enter for free.


 

Milano-Modena: a record match

An unforgettable Sunday for Revivre Axopower Milano.
President Lucio Fusaro managed to organize the match against Azimut Leo Shoes Modena at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago and the audience responded very well, filling every available place inside the building.
The building was sold out, with 12,343 spectators. A record for a regular season match.

A success to be proud of, to which is added a gritty and concrete performance of the guys trained by Giani, which led to a clear victory against a strong team.

Top Volley Latina: Facundo Santucci is the new libero

After starting the season in the French championship (Poitiers), Facundo Santucci arrives in Italy at the Top Volley Latina. 

The Argentinian libero, who said he couldn't miss the opportunity to play in the Italian championship, takes the place of Federico Tosi, who left the team (Federico Tosi is no longer a player of Latina).

Federico Tosi, Latina's libero, missed the last matches due to an injury.

The winner of each group qualifies directly at the Olympics.

Jiri Kovar still at Lube

After the four-month disqualification for doping, Jiri Kovar returns to the Cucine Lube Civitanova jersey for the eighth consecutive season.
