Italian Supercoppa: Modena wins at the tie-break

Sunday 30 September the World Championship was over, Saturday 6 October many protagonists of that event were on the field for the first event of the Italian season: the Supercoppa. 

Despite the lack of time to rest, we saw surprising attacks, lots of grit, and exalting individual performance. 
There were ups and downs, but it couldn't be otherwise because the players of the four teams have all trained together only a handful of times. But from what we have seen this weekend, when the right alchemy will be found, the chemistry that only time can give, we'll find ourselves in front of a show of the highest level. 

At PalaBarton (new name of PalaEvangelisti, the building where Perugia plays) there were also some new features, such as the first green cards awarded and the testing of only one time-out per team each set (testing that we'll find again in Coppa Italia). 

At the end of the two intense days of competitions, Modena won for the fourth time in its history. In the final, leading two sets to zero, it was reached by Trento, but it found the winning shots during the tie-break. 
Micah Christenson, the winning team's setter, won the deserved MVP award.

1° place final:

• Azimut Leo Shoes Modena - Itas Trentino 3-2 (25-23, 25-19, 16-25, 18-25, 15-8)
