Here we are. Saturday, October 13, the
referee, from the top of his station, will blow the starting whistle for the
new season of SuperLega.
14 teams will face each other over the next few months, giving us hours of fun, heartbeat, happiness, disappointment, sadness, excitement, hope, joy.
14 teams just like in the past Championship, because a team comes from Serie A2, Siena, while another renounces the SuperLega, Piacenza (Piacenza renounces the SuperLega. But the city restarts from Serie A2).
Two novelties of the new season are the return of relegations, and the introduction of the green card.
After a few years of stopping, from the 2012/2013 Championship, wanted to help the sports clubs and allow them to breathe again (the objectives were to contain costs and invest in young people, developing the youth sector), the relegations are back. At the end of the season, two teams will move from SuperLega to Serie A2 and there will be only one promotion from the latter.
Another innovation is the introduction of the green card. Players who admit the block touch without having to resort to video check will receive a green card. At the end of the season, the team with the most green cards will win a prize to donate to charity. This choice was intended both as a symbol of the values of fair play that this sport seeks to impart and to shorten sets by eliminating waiting for video checks.
